China Glaze Holos

I have heard a lot of bad things about China Glaze's Holographic Collection, and I heard it all after I had already picked up Galactic Gray and Infra-Red. I didn't find them to be as troublesome as I expected after reading some reviews, but they were certainly not a smooth, easy application.  However, the holo effect in Galactic Gray makes it worth the effort to me. The colors are so strong and vivid, even in regular lighting.

I'm a little less excited about Infra Red. In the sunlight it's pretty - and bright, but inside it's quite dull and boring. More of a dusty rose color than anything.

Most of the photos of Infra Red did nothing to show the holo-ness - these were the best I could do :\
These polishes, if nothing else, have made me realize that I definitely need more holographic polishes in my life! Perhaps a blue... a linear purple...light pink....hmmm haha

Sephora - Is She For Real? (Spoiler Alert: YES!)

Is She For Real? is my first Sephora polish, and I wasn't disappointed one bit by it! In regular light, the bottle just looks like a very pretty silver.. but then you notice all of the different colors of glitter.. and your mind is then blown. I'm really not even sure how to describe it exactly, so I'll just let the pictures speak for themselves. I advise clicking them to enlarge :)

A little bit blurry to show all the glitters!

My husband is actually the one that picked this out. Usually he does a pretty good job, and this time was no exception.

BIIGGGGG thanks to Kas from Varnished Valkyrie for the tips on making my photos appear bigger!

Orly - High on Hope

When I saw this polish at Sally's, I immediately knew I had to have it. I'd never quite seen anything like it before - lots of ooohhh's and aaahhhh's were had as I help up the bottle and rotated it in the light. It is my opinion that no photo of this polish does it any justice, but I will share my swatches anyway!

This is High on Hope in daylight, but not direct sunlight.

Very direct sunlight

These were all varying angles in the sun.

I wish I could get these photos to show up bigger on my page - does anyone have any info on this?

For some reason my middle finger went wacky and seemed to wrinkle a bit. Still, I really enjoyed wearing this polish. Application was a breeze. If blues are your thing, High on Hope will not disappoint you!

Purple and teal glitter gradient

I am not the best with gradients. I can never seem to get the blending quite right and it usually looks somewhat off. This time, though, I think I did the best job I have ever done. I give all of the credit to Northern Lights though because is makes any nail art automatically fantastic.

I started with two coats of Northern Lights on a base-coated-only nail, sponged on some The Real Teal (Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear) and Hypnotize (Jordana), then proceeded to glitter the crap out of it with more Northern Lights, Techno (China Glaze), and Trust Fund Baby (Spoiled). The sun wasn't out in these photos so it's not nearly as glittery looking as it is in person :(

I was so happy with these that I kept them like that for nearly a week -- pretty rare for me to even have polish LAST that long!
